# CaptureIQ - Ask AI
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/ai-and-analytics/ask-ai-in-captureiq
**Ask AI** is a feature in CaptureIQ’s **Smart Analytics** suite that helps you quickly uncover insights from your form responses. Instead of manually scrolling through hundreds of entries, you can simply ask a question, and the AI will return clear, actionable answers — often with supporting visuals.
## **When to use Ask AI**
Ask AI becomes powerful once your form has gathered a decent number of responses (ideally more than 10–15). This makes it especially useful for:
* Surveys
* Feedback forms
* Customer satisfaction studies
* Employee engagement polls
* Any situation where respondents provide long text or multiple-choice answers
Here’s how to get started:
1. Go to **Results → Smart Insights**.
2. If it’s your first time, the page will be empty until you generate insights.
3. On the **top-right**, click **Generate Report**.
* For 10–20 responses, insights are usually ready in **15–20 seconds**.
* For a few hundred responses, it may take up to **\~15 minutes**.
You can safely leave the page and come back later — your report will be waiting once it’s ready.
After pressing **Generate Report**, the button will remain disabled for 24
hours. After that, you can regenerate a new report with updated responses.
Currently, the system analyzes the most recent **500 responses** per form.
## **How Ask AI works**
Once your report is generated, you’ll notice a **floating window** at the bottom of the Smart Analytics page. This is the entry point for Ask AI.
* Click on it to open a panel with **5 recommended starter questions**.
* You can use one of these or type in your own custom question.
* Ask AI understands both:
* **Open-ended fields**: Long Text, Short Text
* **Close-ended fields**: Multiple Choice, Dropdown, Ratings, Yes/No, etc.
* It does **not** analyze personal identifiers (like phone numbers or emails).
This means you can explore your dataset in the same way you framed your form — by simply asking the questions that mattered when you created it.
***
## **Example Questions You Can Ask**
**“What percentage of customers are likely to recommend Pizza Hut to their friends and family?”**
* Ask AI will calculate and return a **clear, percentage-based answer**, often with a supporting chart.
**“How often do customers usually visit my restaurant?”**
* The AI will explain the findings, provide the breakdown, and include visuals to help you understand patterns.
All your queries and AI answers are stored in the **Ask AI chat history**.\
Currently, the chat does not remember across sessions, but **memory support will be added soon**.
***
## **Why Ask AI is Valuable**
When you collect responses with a form, you usually have specific insights you’re looking for. Ask AI makes this easier by:
* Saving hours of manual reading and analysis
* Giving **direct answers to your exact questions**
* Identifying trends across both text and choice-based answers
* Presenting insights in a **clear, visual, and actionable** format
Whether you’re tracking customer satisfaction, employee engagement, or survey data, Ask AI works as your **personal insights assistant**.
***
## **Availability**
Ask AI is available on the **Growth** and **Professional** plans of CaptureIQ.
With Ask AI, you can stop digging through raw responses and instead focus on making smarter, faster decisions.
# CaptureIQ - Detailed Form Insights
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/ai-and-analytics/basis-form-insights-in-captureiq
Once your form starts collecting responses, CaptureIQ gives you a powerful analytics dashboard to understand your audience and their behavior. You’ll find these insights in the **Results → Insights** section of your form.
Here’s what you’ll see inside:
### **Filters**
At the very top, you’ll find **filters** that let you customize how you want to visualize your analytics. You can adjust them to focus on specific time periods or audience segments.
### **The Big Picture**
This gives you an at-a-glance summary of your form’s performance. It includes:
* **Views** – How many people visited your form.
* **Starts** – How many visitors actually started filling out your form.
* **Submissions** – Total submitted responses.
* **Completion Rate** – The percentage of users who started and submitted the form.
* **Average Time to Complete** – How long it takes on average for someone to finish the form.
Example:
* Views: 14
* Starts: 14
* Submissions: 14
* Completion Rate: 100%
* Avg. Time to Complete: 00:31
### **Total Submissions Over Time**
The second chart shows **submissions by day**, giving you a clear view of how your form performs over time. This helps identify trends, spikes, or slow periods.
### **Referrals**
This section breaks down where your form traffic is coming from—such as **Direct, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and more.**
You’ll see:
* **No. of Forms Initiated**
* **Completion Rate**
* **Submissions**
* **Avg. Time to Complete**
This helps you compare platforms and decide which channel brings the highest-quality responses.
### **Device Insights**
Understand how your audience interacts with your form across different devices: **Desktop, Mobile, Tablet (iPad)**.
For each device, you’ll see:
* No. of Forms Initiated
* Completion Rate
* Submissions
* Avg. Time to Complete
This helps you understand your ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) distribution and optimize future forms accordingly.
### **Global Reach**
Finally, you’ll see a **world map visualization** showing submissions and average completion rates across different countries. This gives you a clear idea of where your audience is located and how your form is performing globally.
With these insights, you can make data-driven decisions, optimize your forms, and improve engagement across different platforms, devices, and geographies.
# Export Submissions from CaptureIQ
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/ai-and-analytics/export-submissions-from-captureiq

### **Step 2: Switch to the Responses tab**

### **Step 4: Use your CSV file**
* Once you press **Download**, a CSV file will be generated with all the responses and related data.
* You can open this CSV in tools like **Excel, Google Sheets, or any analytics platform**.
* This allows you to:
* Run custom analysis
* Create charts or pivot tables
* Share the data easily with your team or stakeholders
Exporting responses regularly helps you keep a backup and also makes it easier to run custom reporting outside CaptureIQ.

# CaptureIQ – question-by-question summary
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/ai-and-analytics/questions-summary-in-captureiq

### **Where to find it**
1. Go to your published form.
2. Navigate to **Results** tab.
3. Open the **Summary** tab under Results.
4. Here, you’ll find detailed insights for each field or question in your form.
### **What you can see**
* **Rating questions**: View the exact distribution. For example, you might discover that 50% of respondents rated you 4 stars, 20% gave 5 stars, and the rest distributed lower.
* **Multiple-choice questions**: Identify which options are most and least selected, helping you spot trends in preferences.
* **Text fields (short/long answers)**: Scroll through responses directly inside the dashboard to see detailed feedback, ideas, or comments.
* **Drop-downs**: Analyze how often each choice is picked to refine your options.
### **Real-world use cases**
* **Product feedback** → Understand which features customers love most or where improvements are needed.

* **Market research** → See which preferences dominate in multiple-choice questions.
* **Lead forms** → Spot common themes in open-text responses to better qualify leads.
Question-by-question summary help you move beyond surface-level metrics and give you **actionable data** to improve your forms, products, and decision-making.
# CaptureIQ – Smart Analytics
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/ai-and-analytics/smart-analytics-in-captureiq
When your form has received a decent number of responses (at least **10–15**), you can start using **Smart Analytics**, powered by AI.
This feature is especially useful if you have collected **hundreds of long text responses** in surveys or feedback forms. Instead of reading every single response manually, Smart Analytics summarizes and organizes insights for you in just a few minutes.
## **How to Access Smart Analytics**
1. Go to your form’s editor **Results** tab.
2. Navigate to the **Smart Insights** section.
3. The first time you open this section for a form, the page will be empty, waiting for you to generate insights.
4. On the top-right corner, you’ll see a button: **Generate Report**.
* Click this button to start processing your responses.
* Based on response volume, the report generation may take:
* **15–20 seconds** for around 10–20 responses.
* **Up to 15 minutes** for a few hundred responses.
You can press the button and come back later while the system prepares your report.
## **Important Notes**
* Once you press **Generate Report**, the button will stay disabled for **24 hours**. After 24 hours, you can press it again to refresh the analytics with the **latest responses**.
* At present, the system analyzes up to the **latest 500 responses** for Smart Analytics.
## **What’s Inside Smart Analytics?**
Smart Analytics is divided into **three parts**:
1. **Sentiment Analysis**
2. **Topic & Subtopic Analysis**
3. **Ask AI** (read [here](/ai-and-analytics/ask-ai-in-captureiq))
Both **Sentiment Analysis** and **Topic & Subtopic Analysis** focus only on **open-ended responses** (Long Text and Short Text fields).
### **1. Sentiment Analysis**
The **Sentiment Analysis** section is designed to help you quickly understand **how your audience feels** about the most frequently mentioned topics in your form responses.
Here’s how it works step by step:
* **Field Selection**:
The AI automatically chooses one of your text fields to analyze, giving **priority to Long Text fields** (like feedback or survey questions). If there’s no Long Text field, it will consider Short Text fields.
* **Layout of the Section**:
Once the insights are ready, you’ll see:
* The **form question** displayed clearly at the top.
* A table with two main columns:
* **Topic**: The key subjects that your respondents mentioned most often.
* **Sentiment Analysis**: The AI’s breakdown of how respondents feel about each topic (positive, negative, or neutral).
* **Value for You**:
This analysis condenses potentially hundreds of text responses into a **few clear themes**, each tagged with sentiment.
* Example: In a restaurant survey, if many respondents mention *food quality*, this becomes a topic. The AI then shows whether most people discussed it positively (e.g., “loved the flavors”), negatively (e.g., “food was cold”), or neutrally.
Instead of spending hours reading line by line, you get a **bird’s-eye view of customer emotions** around the most important issues.
### **2. Topic & Subtopic Analysis**
The **Topic & Subtopic Analysis** section goes one step deeper than sentiment analysis, helping you **unpack responses into layers of insights**.
Here’s what happens:
* **Field Selection**:
The AI picks **2–3 of your text fields**, again prioritizing Long Text fields. Each chosen field becomes a dedicated section in the analysis.
* **Structure of the Section**:
For each selected form question:
* The question itself is displayed at the top.
* Below it, a table with **two main columns** appears:
* **Main Topics**: The AI identifies recurring themes (most frequently mentioned ideas or issues).
* **Subtopics**: Each main topic is broken down into **2–3 supporting points** for deeper context.
* **Example Phrases**:
To give you direct evidence, the AI includes **sample quotes** from actual responses (shown in double quotes). These are **verbatim user phrases**, so you know exactly how people expressed their thoughts.
* **Value for You**:
This layered view ensures you don’t just know what the big issues are, but also what specific details people are repeatedly highlighting.
* Example: If the main topic is *Customer Support*, the subtopics might be *response time*, *friendliness*, and *issue resolution*. Quotes like *“had to wait 3 days for a reply”* or *“support team was polite”* give you real context behind the numbers.
This way, even if you have hundreds of long responses, you’ll come away with a **structured understanding** of the most critical feedback segments.
## **Why It’s Useful**
Whether you’re handling **dozens or hundreds of open-ended responses**, Smart Analytics gives you a **clear summary of sentiment, topics, and details** that would otherwise take hours to uncover manually.
It ensures you don’t miss important insights hidden in long text responses.
## **Availability**
Smart Analytics is a **paid feature** available only in the:
* **Growth Plan**
* **Professional Plan**
# CaptureIQ - Submissions List
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/ai-and-analytics/submissions-list-in-captureiq
Once your form has collected a good number of submissions, you can dive into the **Results** tab to start analyzing. The **Submissions List** view gives you a clear, organized look at how participants have answered.
### **What you’ll see in Submissions List:**
* A **table of all submissions**: Every submission is displayed in the exact way it was entered by the user.
* A **status column**: Each response is marked as either **Completed** or **Partial**, so you can easily track unfinished submissions.
### **Filters for smarter analysis:**
At the top-left of the Results page, you’ll find two powerful filters:
1. **Date Filter**
* Narrow down responses within a specific time range.
* Useful for tracking campaigns, week-on-week progress, or monthly reports.
2. **Field-Level Filters**
* Apply filters on individual fields for deeper analysis.
* Examples:
* Show only responses where the **rating > 3**.
* Filter **Yes/No questions** where the response = Yes.
* Combine multiple filters across different fields to find exactly what you need.
### **Why it matters:**
The **Submissions List** is perfect when you want a quick, raw look at your data without diving too deep. It helps you:
* Spot patterns in submissions.
* Focus on relevant submissions.
* Cleanly segment submissions for reporting or follow-ups.

# API Documentation
## Getting Started
Understanding the basics of CaptureIQ's API.
Please note that CaptureIQ's API is currently in beta. We welcome any
questions or feedback you may have. Feel free to reach out to us at
[support@captureiq.ai](mailto:support@captureiq.ai).
## Base URL
The CaptureIQ API is built on REST principles and is served over HTTPS.
The Base URL for all API endpoints is:
```bash theme={null}
https://app.captureiq.ai
```
## Authentication
To access CaptureIQ's API, you need to authenticate using a Bearer token. Include the token in the Authorization header of your API requests like this:
```bash theme={null}
Authorization: Bearer
```
You can generate a new token/API key under your Account Settings. This token is valid for 180 days, post that need to generate a new key in settings
## Workspace ID
CaptureIQ's API is organized around workspaces. To access a workspace's resources, include the workspaceId parameter in your API requests either in the query param or request body:
```bash theme={null}
https://app.captureiq.ai/forms?workspaceId=
```
You can get your workspace ID under your Settings.
## Response Codes
The API returns standard HTTP response codes to indicate the success or failure of an API request. Here are a few examples:
| Code | Description |
| ---- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| 200 | The request was successful. |
| 400 | The request was invalid or cannot be served. |
| 401 | The request requires user authentication. |
| 403 | The server understood the request, but refuses to authorize it. |
| 404 | The requested resource could not be found. |
| 429 | Too many requests. |
| 500 | The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request. |
## Rate limits
CaptureIQ's API enforces a rate limit of 60 requests per minute per user.
This limitation is in place to promote fair usage and prevent any single user from disproportionately impacting the performance and availability of the API for others.
If you exceed the rate limit, you will receive a 429 Too Many Requests response code. This indicates that your request cannot be processed at the moment due to exceeding the allowed number of requests within the specified timeframe.

# Capture & Qualify Leads with Leads Intelligence Mode in CaptureIQ
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/features/capture-qualify-leads-with-leads-intelligence-mode-in-captureiq
## Why Lead Qualification Matters
For any business, capturing leads is only half the battle — **qualifying them is what drives sales and growth**. Without proper qualification, your sales team wastes time on poor leads instead of focusing on high-potential ones.
This is where **CaptureIQ’s Leads Intelligence Mode** comes in. With the power of AI, you can:
* Instantly create a **lead capture form** tailored to your business.
* Get **optimized qualification questions** without starting from scratch.
* Automatically **score leads** so you know which ones are high-priority.
This saves you time and ensures your team works on the **most valuable leads first**.
## How to Create a Lead Qualification Form
### Step 1: Start Creating the Form
1. From your **CaptureIQ Dashboard**, click **+ Create Form**.
2. Select **Create Form with AI**.
3. From the available options, choose **For Leads Qualification Forms**.
### Step 2: Provide Business Details
A window will pop up asking for details about your business.
* Enter your **Business Name**.
* You now have two options:
1. Enter your **Business URL** (**Highly Recommended**).
2. Or, describe your business in detail in the field provided.
If you provide your **URL**, the AI will scan your website and understand:
* What your business does
* Your ideal customer profile (ICP)
* Key demographics
* Important features & offerings
Once entered, click **Continue**.
### Step 3: AI Analyzes & Defines Your ICP
This is the **first phase of AI magic**.
* AI processes your business details and generates **Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) information**.
* The information is neatly categorized into **segments**.
* Review these details. You can edit, add, or remove anything to better match your business.
Once satisfied, click **Generate Questions**.
### Step 4: AI Generates Lead Qualification Questions
This is the **second phase of AI magic**.
* Based on your ICP data, AI creates **optimized qualification questions** tailored to your business.
* These questions are well-researched, clear, and designed to qualify leads effectively.
After a few seconds, you’ll land on the **Form Editor Page**.
Here, all the questions will already be ready for you. Review them and make small edits if needed.
### Step 5: Set Scores for Lead Qualification
Now comes the critical part — **scoring your leads**.
1. In the tool bar, click the **Set Score** button.
2. You’ll see that AI has **already assigned scores** to each field.
* Options most valuable to your business are given **higher scores**.
* Less relevant options get lower scores.
Since this is a **lead qualification form**, make sure you **add an Email/Phone Number field** (at the start or end of the form). If AI hasn’t added it, add it manually.
### Step 6: Preview & Publish
1. Click **Preview Mode** to see how your audience will experience the form.
2. Make any last-minute adjustments if needed.
3. Once everything looks good, click **Publish**.
Your AI-powered **Lead Qualification Form** is now live and ready to share with your audience!
## How to Use Lead Scores
Once you start collecting responses:
1. Go to the **Results tab** > **Responses**.
2. Scroll to the last column — **Lead Score**.
3. Here, you’ll see the AI-assigned score for each respondent.
* **High scores = Priority leads**
* **Medium scores = Good leads**
* **Low scores = Poor leads**
You can **download the responses** and share them with your **Sales or Marketing team**. This ensures they focus first on **priority leads**, improving conversion and saving valuable time.
## Final Thoughts
With **Leads Intelligence Mode in CaptureIQ**, you don’t just capture leads — you capture **qualified leads**. The AI does the heavy lifting by:
* Understanding your business
* Creating optimized questions
* Assigning scores automatically
All you need to do is **review, publish, and start closing deals faster**.

When you press **“Create Form”** on the homepage, you’ll see two options:
* **Create with AI**
* **Create from Scratch**
You can use both methods to create graded quizzes. Below we’ll walk through both approaches.
## 1. Create Graded Quiz with AI
1. On the homepage, select **Create with AI**.
2. Choose **Create for all forms**.
3. In the input box, describe your quiz in detail. Mention:
* The type of quiz (subject, topic, theme)
* The type of questions (e.g., multiple choice, dropdown, yes/no)
* The number of questions
* The difficulty level
* Any specific instructions for close-ended fields (important for grading).
Since this is a graded quiz, it’s best to use close-ended fields like multiple choice, dropdowns, and yes/no, because they allow you to set correct answers and scores.
4. After you provide a detailed prompt, the **AI will generate the quiz for you**.
5. You’ll be redirected to the **form edit page**, where all your questions will already be listed. Review them, cross-check, and make small edits if needed.
6. Click **Preview** to check if everything looks good.
7. Now, in the **tool bar** (next to the Preview button), open the **Form Mode dropdown**.
8. Change the mode from **Unified Mode** to **Graded Quiz Mode**.
9. Once you select this, you’ll see a **“Set correct answer”** button appear.
10. Click on it to open a list of all valid questions. Here, you can:
* Mark the correct answer for each question.
* Assign scores for correct answers.
11. Press **Save**, then **Publish** your quiz.
You’re all set — your AI-generated graded quiz is live!
## 2. Create Graded Quiz from Scratch
1. Select **Create from Scratch** from the homepage.
2. You’ll land on an **empty form canvas**.
3. In the tool bar, change the **Form Mode** from **Unified Mode** to **Graded Quiz Mode**.
4. Start adding your quiz questions one by one by selecting relevant field types. For example:
* Multiple choice
* Dropdown
* Yes/No
* Other close-ended formats
5. Write your **question title** and **description** for each field.
> Tip: You can also refine your questions with AI here to make them more clear and engaging.
6. Once all your questions are added, click **Set correct answers**.
7. For each question:
* Select the correct answer(s).
* Assign scores for correct responses.
8. Make sure all fields are set to **Required Mode** (since this is a quiz, every
question should be answered).
9. Click **Save** and then **Publish** your quiz.
Your quiz built from scratch is now live!
## Viewing Quiz Scores
After your quiz is published and responses are collected:
1. Go to the **Results tab** > **Responses**.
2. The responses will appear in a **tabular format**.
3. Scroll to the last column, where you’ll see **“Graded Quiz Score.”**
4. This column shows the **final score** for each respondent, based on the correct answers and the scores you assigned.
That’s it! You’ve successfully created a graded quiz in CaptureIQ — either with AI or from scratch.
# Do test submissions count towards my submission limit in CaptureIQ?
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/features/do-test-submission-count-towards-my-submissions-limit-in-captureiq
Yes. Any submission created or submitted through a published form count toward your monthly submissions limit.
For example, if your plan allows 100 submissions per month and you collect 3 submissions, you will have 97 remaining for that month. This also applies if you submit a form yourself as a test after publishing.
Submissions limits automatically reset at the beginning of each new month. Limits are tied to your plan, and CaptureIQ cannot manually reset or extend them.
### How to test your form without using submissions
To make sure your form works correctly before publishing:
1. Open your form.
2. Click the **Preview** button (play icon) in the toolbar.
3. Interact with the form as if you were a respondent — this won’t count toward your submissions limit.
4. Use the **mobile view** option to check how your form appears on smaller screens.
You can preview and test forms at any time, even after publishing, without consuming your monthly submissions quota.
# Edit your form in draft mode in CaptureIQ
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/features/edit-your-form-in-draft-mode-in-captureiq
Draft Mode allows you to update your form without interrupting the live version. Respondents continue to see and interact with the existing published form until you decide to make your edits live. This ensures you can test, review, and finalize your changes before they go public.
### How to edit in draft mode
1. Open the form you want to update.
2. Make your changes — you can add, remove, or update any fields, adjust question text, or modify settings.
3. Use the **Preview** option in the toolbar to check your work:
* **Play button**: Walk through your form as a respondent would.
* **Mobile view**: See how your form will look on smaller screens.
4. Close the preview when finished. Your edits remain saved in draft mode.
### Publishing your edits
* While changes are automatically saved, they are not visible to respondents until you click **Publish**.
* Once you publish, your form updates will go live immediately.
* The form URL stays the same, so you don’t need to re-share it.
### Key Points
* Draft Mode ensures your respondents never see half-finished or unpolished changes.
* You can continue collecting responses on the live form while making edits in the background.
* Only finalized updates appear after you publish.
# CaptureIQ - End Screens and Redirects
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/features/end-screens-and-redirects-in-captureiq
With CaptureIQ, you can decide how your form should end once a user submits it. You can either show a **custom end screen** or redirect them directly to another URL.
Note: This feature is available only on **Essential**, **Growth**, and **Professional** plans (not available on the Free plan).
### Step 1: Open End Screen Settings
* After adding all your questions, look at the **bottom-left panel**.
* Click on **Ending add icon button**.
### Step 2: Choose Your Ending Type
You’ll see two options. You can pick either one:
#### Option 1: End Screen
* Add a **custom title** and **description** to display when the form is submitted.
* Include a **button**:
* Customize the button text.
* Add a URL so users can visit your URL if they click it.
* Add **social media buttons** (Facebook, X, LinkedIn):
* Each icon can be linked to your respective profiles.
* Customize everything from the **right panel**.
#### Option 2: Redirect URL
* Instead of showing an end screen, you can **automatically redirect users** to any URL after submission.
* Once they submit, they’ll instantly land on your chosen page.
* This is a powerful way to:
* Drive traffic to your website
* Take users to a thank-you page
* Show them an offer or next step
### **Step 3: Save Your Choice**
* Once you’ve customized your ending, published your form.
* Your form will now follow the chosen flow after submission.
# CaptureIQ Form Submissions limit
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/features/form-submissions-limit-in-captureiq
The number of submissions you can collect each month depends on your CaptureIQ plan.
### Monthly Submissions Limits by Plan
| **Plan** | **Monthly Submissions** |
| :----------- | :---------------------- |
| Free | 15 |
| Essential | 100 |
| Growth | 1,000 |
| Professional | 10,000 |
### How submissions limits work
* Submissions limits apply **across all forms in your account**.
* For example, if you’re on the Growth plan with 3 forms, you can collect a **total of 1,000 submissions per month**, not per form.
* Unused submissions **don’t roll over** to the next month.
### When submission limits reset
* Limits reset automatically at the **start of each new billing cycle** (monthly or yearly, depending on your plan).
### Checking Your Usage
* Go to your **Dashboard → Left side bar → Usage this month box**.
* Here, you can see:
* How many submissions you’ve collected this month.
### What happens when you reach the limit
* Once you hit **100%** of your quota, your forms will go into **Private Mode** (no new responses can be collected).
* Forms will automatically collect response again when:
* Your monthly cycle resets, or
* You upgrade to a higher plan.
Deleting submissions is not an option and will not free up extra submissions
for that month. Once a submission is counted, it stays in the monthly total.
Pro Tip: If you expect a sudden spike in submissions, consider upgrading in
advance so your forms don’t stop collecting.
# How to duplicate a form in CaptureIQ
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/features/how-to-duplicate-forms-in-captureiq

Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/form-settings/setup-CNAME-in-captureiq-form-url
Learn how to connect and use your own domain for all published CaptureIQ form links.
Setting up a **custom domain** allows you to personalize your published form URLs — making them more trustworthy, branded, and professional (e.g., `forms.yourcompany.com/form-id` instead of `captureiq.ai/form-id`).
> ⚙️ You can manage your domain settings from the **Form Settings** section inside your organization’s settings panel.
***
## 🚀 How to Set Up a Custom Domain
### 1. Go to Form Settings
* Navigate to the **Settings** page from the left sidebar.
* Click on the **Form Settings** tile.
* You’ll be taken to a page where you’ll see:
* **Organization URL**
* **Add Custom Domain** input box

* In the **Add Custom Domain** input box, enter your desired domain or subdomain (e.g., `forms.yourdomain.com`).
* Click the **Add Domain** button.
### 3. View & Add DNS Records
After clicking **Add Domain**, an information box will appear showing the required **DNS records** to add to your domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare).
We support both:
* ✅ **CNAME Record**
* ✅ **A Record**
> ⚠️ **Note**:\
> DNS changes can take up to **24 hours** to propagate.\
> We’ll automatically verify your domain once the records are active.
*Here’s what the DNS instruction box will look like:*
*If you're using a specific provider like Cloudflare or GoDaddy, you can follow their documentation to add a new record.*
***
### 4. Done! Your Custom Domain is Active 🎉
From now on, all published form links will use your custom domain instead of the default CaptureIQ URL.
> 📝 Even after setting a custom domain, the original `captureiq.ai` links will **still continue to work** as a fallback.
***
## 🧹 How to Remove a Custom Domain
You can delete your custom domain at any time from the same **Form Settings** page.
Once deleted:
* All published forms will **revert to using the default `captureiq.ai`** URLs.
* The custom domain URLs will **stop working**.
***
## ✅ Best Practices
* Use a **subdomain** like `forms.yourdomain.com` rather than a root domain.
* Set DNS records with a low TTL (Time to Live) for faster updates.
* Ensure your domain is not already in use by another service.

# Show or hide question numbers in CaptureIQ forms
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/form-settings/show-or-hide-question-numbers-in-captureiq-forms

# Create a short link before from sharing in CaptureIQ
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/form-sharing-and-embedding/create-short-link-before-form-sharing-in-captureiq
When you publish a form in CaptureIQ, you automatically get a shareable link. But sometimes, the default link can look **too long, unbranded, or messy** — making it less appealing to share on social media, emails, or customer-facing platforms.
To solve this, CaptureIQ lets you create a **custom short link** for your form. This makes your form URL **clean, memorable, and professional**, while still keeping the original link fully functional.
## **Why Customize Your Form Link?**
Here are some key benefits of creating a short and branded link:
* **Professional Branding**: Replace random characters in the default link with your business or campaign name.
* **Easy Sharing**: Short links are easier to share in social media posts, SMS, or even offline campaigns.
* **Memorable**: A clean, custom link is easier for respondents to recall and retype.
* **SEO Value**: Descriptive slugs (like /feedback or /event-registration) can give search engines more context.
* **Flexibility**: You can update your custom name anytime without breaking older links.
## **How to Create a Custom Short Link in CaptureIQ**
### **Step 1: Publish Your Form**
First, publish your form as usual. You’ll receive a default CaptureIQ form URL.
### **Step 2: Go to Share Tab**
1. Open the published form from your Dashboard.
2. Navigate to the **Share** tab.
3. On the top bar, you’ll see your full form link along with a **Customize** button.
### **Step 3: Customize Your Link**
* Click on **Customize**.
* A modal will open up. Click on the **Edit** button.
* Enter your preferred custom name.
* Save your changes.
## **Important Notes**
* **Default Link Still Works**: Even after customizing, your original long URL remains active. Anyone with the old link can still access your form.
* **Best Practice**: Use meaningful names (like the form’s purpose or campaign name) instead of random words to make your link more effective.
That’s it! You now have a clean, branded short link to share with your audience.
# How to Embed a CaptureIQ Form in Email
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/form-sharing-and-embedding/embed-captureiq-form-in-email
Learn how to embed CaptureIQ forms in emails using Mailchimp, HubSpot, or other tools. Show the first question inside the email, boost engagement, and drive higher completion rates.
Embedding your **CaptureIQ form in an email** is a smart way to boost engagement and encourage more people to start your form. Instead of just seeing a link, your audience will see the **first question of your form previewed inside the email**.
When a recipient clicks on the question or any option, the form will automatically open in their **browser**, where they can complete the rest of it. This creates a smoother entry point and makes your email campaigns more interactive.
***
## **When to Use Email Embed**
Email embedding works especially well for:
* **NPS (Net Promoter Score)** surveys
* **Yes/No questions**
* **Multiple Choice questions**
* **Rating questions**
Email embed **does not support Date or File Upload questions** as the first question. If your form starts with these, the embed option will not work correctly.
***
## **How to Embed a CaptureIQ Form in Email**
### **Step 1: Open Share Settings**
1. Go to your **CaptureIQ Dashboard**.
2. Select the form you want to share.
3. Make sure the form is **published** (the Share tab is disabled until you publish).
4. Navigate to the **Share** tab.
5. Click **Embed in Email** from the sidebar.
***
### **Step 2: Generate the Embed Code**
* A popup will appear with the embed code.
* Click **Copy** to copy the code.
***
### **Step 3: Add the Code to Your Email Tool**
The embed code works with most professional **email marketing platforms** like:
* Mailchimp
* HubSpot
* ActiveCampaign
* Sendinblue
It will **not work in personal email providers** like Gmail or Outlook.
Steps:
1. Open your email campaign inside your marketing tool.
2. Insert a **Code Block** or **HTML Block** into the email body.
3. Paste the copied CaptureIQ embed code.
4. Save and preview the email to confirm that the first question appears correctly.
***
## **Notes & Tips for Best Results**
* **Completion Tracking:** A response is only recorded once the user completes the form in the browser. If they only click in the email but don’t finish, it won’t count as a submission. Always encourage users to complete the form.
* **Width Adjustment:** By default, the form embed is **640px wide**. If your email layout is narrower (like 480px), adjust the width in the embed code.
* **Updating Forms:** If you change your form (like editing the first question), you’ll need to **regenerate and re-paste** the embed code into your email platform.
* **Test Before Sending:** Always send yourself a test email to confirm the first question appears and redirects properly.

Once you’ve designed and finalized your form in **CaptureIQ**, the next step is to **share it with your audience** and start collecting responses. CaptureIQ makes this simple by giving you multiple sharing options — from a direct link to QR codes, branded URLs, and social previews.
This guide will walk you through **all the ways you can share your CaptureIQ form** and how each option works.
***
## **1. Share the Form Link**
When you click **Publish**, CaptureIQ generates a **unique link** for your form.
* This link can be copied and shared anywhere: email, social media, WhatsApp, or directly on your website.
* As soon as someone clicks it, they’ll be taken to your live form.
This is the fastest and easiest way to start collecting responses.
***
## **2. Embed Form in Email**
CaptureIQ also provides an **email embed option** to make your form more engaging in newsletters or campaigns.
**Important to know**:
* Respondents **cannot fill the form inside the email itself** (most email providers don’t support this).
* Instead, the **first question of your form** is displayed inside the email as a teaser.
* When users click on it, the full form opens in their browser and they can continue filling it.
This increases engagement because your audience gets a **sneak peek** of the form right in their inbox.
## **3. Customize the Form URL**
Instead of using the default CaptureIQ link, you can make your form link **branded and professional**:
* **Custom Domain (CNAME setup):** Host forms on your own domain, e.g., `forms.yourcompany.com/survey`.
* **Custom Slug:** Edit the text after the slash, e.g., `captureiq.ai/my-feedback`.
A branded URL builds trust, looks professional, and is easier to remember and share.
***
## **4. Create a QR Code**
With one click, CaptureIQ generates a **QR code** for your form.
* You can download the QR code as an image.
* Place it on posters, brochures, packaging, menus, or any offline material.
* When scanned, it instantly opens your form on the respondent’s device.
This is perfect for **offline-to-online campaigns**, especially in events, restaurants, or retail.
***
## **5. Customize Social Media Previews (OGP Settings)**
When you share your form link on **social platforms** (LinkedIn, Twitter/X, WhatsApp, Facebook), a preview card appears.
CaptureIQ lets you **customize**:
* The **image** (logo, banner, or custom graphic)
* The **title**
* The **description**
This makes your form more attractive, clickable, and aligned with your branding.
***
## **Best Practices for Sharing Your Form**
* Always test your link before sending it to a large audience.
* Use a **branded URL or QR code** for offline promotions.
* Tease the form in your **email campaigns** with the embedded first question.
* Update your **social previews** to maximize clicks and engagement.
***
## **Final Note**
With CaptureIQ, sharing a form is more than just sending a link. You get multiple ways to distribute your form — **direct links, branded URLs, QR codes, email embeds, and optimized social previews** — making it easy to reach your audience wherever they are.
Start by publishing your form today and choose the sharing method that works best for your campaign.

# Share CaptureIQ Form URL with OGP (Open Graph Preview)
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/form-sharing-and-embedding/share-captureiq-form-url-with-ogp-open-graph-preview
When you share your CaptureIQ form link on platforms like **LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter (X), or even messaging apps like WhatsApp**, the way your link appears plays a huge role in how people engage with it.
That’s where **Open Graph Protocol (OGP)** comes in. By customizing your form’s **title, description, and image**, you can ensure your shared link looks professional, eye-catching, and relevant to your audience.
## **Why is OGP important?**
* **Boosts click-through rates (CTR):** A clear and attractive preview encourages more people to open your form.
* **Increases trust:** A branded image and precise description make your form look authentic.
* **Drives engagement:** Social posts with rich previews perform better than plain links.
* **Consistency:** Ensures your brand identity is maintained across all channels.
## **How to Customize OGP in CaptureIQ**
1. Go to the **Share tab** of your form.
2. On the **right panel**, look for the **OGP section**.
3. You’ll find three fields you can customize:
* **Title** – Write a clear, attention-grabbing title.
* **Description** – Add a short summary explaining what the form is about.
* **Image** – You can either **upload your own image** or provide an **image URL**.
4. Once you’re done, press **Save**.
You do **not** need to republish your form after making OGP changes. The updates will automatically reflect when you share the link.
## **Example Use Cases**
* A **lead capture form** preview showing your company’s logo and a strong CTA headline.
* A **survey form** link on LinkedIn with an engaging description to encourage participation.
* A **feedback form** sent on WhatsApp where the preview instantly builds trust.

# How to Create Mobile-Friendly CaptureIQ Forms
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/getting-started/how-to-create-captureiq-mobile-friendly-forms
More than half of form submissions today happen on mobile devices. The good news? **All CaptureIQ forms are fully mobile-optimized by default.**
Still, there are a few things you can do during creation to make sure your form is smooth and easy to complete on smaller screens.
### **Step 1: Preview in Mobile View**
* While creating your form, open the **Preview**.
* Switch to **Mobile View** to see exactly how it will look on a phone.
* This helps you adjust your content to make sure it’s not too crowded or text-heavy.
### **Step 2: Keep Questions Short & Clear**
* Mobile users are often on the move, so keep your **questions short and simple**.
* Avoid long paragraphs or complex wording that might feel overwhelming on a small screen.
### **Step 3: Limit Answer Choices**
* Too many options can make a mobile screen cluttered.
* For **Multiple Choice** or **Dropdown** questions, try to keep answer choices concise and limited.
* The goal: users shouldn’t need to scroll endlessly to see all options.
### **Step 4: Test Before Sharing**
* Always test your form in **Preview Mode** on both desktop and mobile views.
* This lets you experience it exactly as your respondents will.
* Make adjustments if something feels too long or crowded.
Pro Tip: Shorter forms usually perform better on mobile. If your form is long,
consider breaking it into smaller sections or even separate forms.

# Save and return to your CaptureIQ form later
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/getting-started/save-and-return-to-your-captureiq-form-later
Sometimes respondents don’t finish a form in one go. With CaptureIQ, you can allow them to **continue where they left off** — without losing progress.
## Step 1: Enable Autosave in Settings
* In your **form settings**, turn on **Auto Save Progress**.
* Once enabled, responses will be saved automatically in the respondent’s browser.
## Step 2: Start Filling the Form
* When a respondent begins answering, CaptureIQ saves the fact that they’ve **started the form** (even before entering answers).
* This helps you measure how many people began but didn’t submit, giving you **completion rate insights**.
## Step 3: Return Later
* If respondents come back on the **same device** and **same browser**, their saved progress will be restored.
* The form will reopen at the **next unfilled question**, so they can pick up right where they left off.
Progress is not saved in **Incognito/Private mode**.
## Step 4: Submit Options
* If a respondent **completes the form**, their submission is recorded as **Submitted**.
* If they submit without answering all questions, the entry is recorded as a **Partial Submission**.
## Autosave Duration
* Saved progress remains in the browser’s local storage for **15 days**.
* After this period, respondents will need to start fresh.
Enable **Auto Save Progress** for longer or multi-step forms to improve
completion rates and make the experience smoother for your respondents.
# What browsers and devices are supported by CaptureIQ
Source: https://help.captureiq.ai/getting-started/what-browsers-and-devices-are-supported-by-captureiq
CaptureIQ forms are designed to work smoothly across **all modern browsers and devices**. Whether your audience is on desktop, tablet, or mobile, they’ll have a seamless experience.
### Desktop Browsers
CaptureIQ works well on:
* **Google Chrome**
* **Mozilla Firefox**
* **Microsoft Edge**
* **Safari**
* **Opera**
Forms generally work fine on a few older versions of these browsers too, but we recommend keeping them updated for the best performance.
### Mobile Devices
Your audience can easily fill out CaptureIQ forms on:
* **iPhones & iPads (iOS Safari/Chrome)**
* **Android phones & tablets (Chrome, Samsung Internet, etc.)**
Since all forms are **mobile-optimized by default**, they’ll adjust automatically to smaller screens.
### General Recommendation
* While forms usually work on slightly older browser versions, the **latest versions** give the smoothest, fastest experience.
* If a respondent ever faces issues, a quick browser refresh or update usually fixes it.
